Sonoma County Library’s Summer Reading Challenge is a celebration of reading, learning, and fun.

Keep track of your progress by logging the minutes you read online through Beanstack or by recording them on paper logs.** Check out Beanstack and the Beanstack Tracker app anytime for year-round reading challenges!


The more you read, the more chances you have to win prizes*!

  • Read 5 hours to earn a free book.
  • Read 10 hours to earn another free book!
  • Read 15 hours to complete the challenge
  • Activity Prizes – lunch tote or pop-it flyer, while supplies last

Prize Drawings - For every hour you read, you are entered into a drawing to win prizes

Help your child succeed in school

Encourage your child to maintain their reading skills by reading 20 minutes every day. Show your child that reading is a priority by participating in the Summer Reading Challenge together.

Don’t miss our awesome lineup of free performances and programs at 12 library locations. All events are free, and you don't need a library card to attend.

  • Kids explore STEAM, discover magic, bilingual music, and meet animals!
  • Teens learn self-defense, create art journals, and explore outer space!
  • Adults enjoy music, healthy cooking, and creative projects!
  • All Ages celebrate dance and make art together!
