The Sonoma County Library is bringing renowned authors to your libraries for its Summer Reading Author Series. Come meet award-winning authors and learn about their writing processes, their lives, and their art. The Summer Reading Author Series is comprised of visits by seven best-selling and award-winning authors to library branches across Sonoma County. Per our summer reading theme "Reading Takes You Everywhere," this is a great time to travel to libraries across the county to participate in these wonderful community events. The Summer Reading Program is a reading program; there is no better event for libraries than an author visit to support and promote the activity of reading.

Carol McCloud, a.k.a. the "Bucket Lady", has captivated all ages and encouraged them to become daily bucket fillers since her first book, Have You Filled a Bucket Today? A Guide to Daily Happiness for Kids, was published in 2006.
A graduate of Oakland University’s School of Education and Human Services, Carol has spent 20 years in education as a teacher, counselor, youth mentor, and early education director. As Adjunct Professor for the Florida Keys Community College in the 1990’s, Carol taught early childhood development classes and served as president of the local NAEYC affiliate.
