What is Archives Unbound?
Archives Unbound, a Gale Cengage product, is now free to all California public libraries in perpetuity from the California State Library. This resource offers online access to primary source material from 296 archival collections covering topics of importance to U.S. and California history. Archives Unbound addresses students and scholars' pressing need to see primary, unpublished archival documents. Archives Unbound presents topically-focused digital collections of historical documents that support the research and study needs of scholars and students at the college and university level.

Please note: devices need to be flash enabled to view content. This issue will resolve summer of 2019. If your device does not have flash view these directions for content access.
Mobile Access: There is a mobile app called “Access My Library” that can be used to access all Gale products we subscribe to including Archives Unbound, Biography In Context, Chilton Library, and Gale Primary Sources.
Download the app from any App or Play store and locate the nearest geographic library system.
The app usually does not require a card to log is as it uses geolocation for resource access.
The app is most useful for power searching across all Gale products subscribed to by an institution.
