The Friends of the Sebastopol Library sponsor programs such as Summer Reading, music performances, and holiday events. Funds from the Friends' book sales, membership dues, and donations enable the Friends to purchase books, equipment, and furnishings that are not available through the library budget.
The Friends contributed approximately a quarter of a million dollars toward the renovation and retrofitting of the Sebastopol Regional Library in 2012.
Friends of the Sebastopol Library is a volunteer non-profit organization that provides support to the Sebastopol Regional Library. While the Sebastopol Regional Library is a part of the Sonoma County Library system and is tax-supported, there are many items for which there are not enough tax dollars.
The majority of the funds raised by the Friends are through book sales. Friends volunteer almost daily to sort books and set up and staff the sales. Friends also volunteer time as needed to help the library.
To be a friend, please get a membership form at the library and return it with your tax-deductible check.
Spring Book Sale 2023
FOSL Spring Book Sale (May 17 - 20) of donated used books, DVDs, CDs, collectibles, sheet music, etc. in good condition. Most books are bargain-priced at $1, even the newest fiction!
The sale includes adult/children/teens' book. The sale is open to all. No scanners allowed on Opening Night. The only rule: courteous behavior is expected due to the crowded conditions of our venue.

Fri., May 19: Half-Price Day - 10:00am - 6:00pm
Sat., May 20: $5/bag Day - we provide the bag & you get extreme bargains! - 10:00am - 2:00pm
With the proceeds from our book sales we help the Sebastopol Library continue its mission of providing great reading, wonderful free programs and fantastic services to its patrons and all of West County.

Book donations are accepted by the Friends of the Sebastopol Library on Thursday mornings, from 9-11 AM only. Please bring a maximum of 4 Bags, OR, 4 Boxes to the back staff door area, down the ramp from the parking lot. Books must be in good condition. No encyclopedias or textbooks. Thank you!
